• Open Dialogue: We encourage open communication, where everyone feels comfortable sharing ideas and concerns. Being two-way this allows us to understand each other’s perspectives and work collaboratively.
• The DESC Model: We deliver feedback using the “DESC” model. DESC is particularly helpful in fostering growth through open dialogue. DESC stands for Describe, Express, Specific and Consequences. By objectively describing a situation, expressing our feelings without blame, providing specifics to support the feedback and outlining potential consequences and the desired outcome, we can provide feedback that’s both clear and kind. This approach minimises defensiveness and encourages team members to see feedback as a chance to develop their talent.
• Gratitude in Action: We believe in expressing gratitude regularly. A simple “thank you” for a job well done can go a long way in boosting morale and fostering a culture of appreciation. We find communicating gratitude using DESC enables you to be even more specific with your ‘thank you’ add a foundation of kindness to this and your ‘thank you’ empowers your team to learn, grow, and become the best versions of themselves.
