Well here we are, in spring (although you’d be forgiven for not realising!), it’s been an incredibly busy start to the year and we’ve been involved in some incredible things too.
This year I have been asked to join the governments ‘Engage for success’ guru group to represent SMEs.
I’m very excited about this, not only because I’ve never been a guru before but also the fact that we have the opportunity to influence at a national level! I’ve been to a regional event and it was great to hear the challenges that businesses face and ideas to help increase engagement. Engage for success has a web site which is packed full of tool, ideas and event information.so why not take a moment to look or even add the site to your favourites .
A focus on teamwork
We’ve been gathering momentum this month as the team here at Pro-Development continues to strengthen and grow. This made me reflect on what makes a great team.
For me, Teamwork is about having a common goal, playing to strengths, being considerate of aspirations and personal motivation. It’s about providing a supportive environment whilst we develop and grow and sharing opportunities that really help to bring out our best. It’s about acting as one when the going gets tough and sharing the success when things are going well. For me, it’s also about the relationships we build, the lasting friendships we make and the laughs and happy memories we treasure.
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. – Margaret Mead
A thought for you – what are you doing to inspire and engage your team?
We’ve been busy teaming up with lots of people so far this year in our quest to raise awareness of the importance of employee engagement.
Huge thanks go to Denison Till, FSB and the Business Network who invited us to come along and talk to their members. We certainly struck a chord with many of you and it was energising to see such interaction. Thank you for sharing some of the challenges that are very real for you right now.
If you haven’t yet managed to attend one of these events, we do run regular workshops to support you and your business where we share tools and techniques to help you bring your people with you, grow your business and impact your bottom line. It will also give you the opportunity to talk to other business owners, leaders and managers and share your successes, challenges and ideas. We’d love to see you there, just drop us an email.
Your People Partner
We’ve also loved working as part of a team with our clients in a people partner role. It is a real privilege to become part of your team. Being involved at this level helps us to develop a deep understanding of the challenges you face and it just amazing to see the businesses grow from strength to strength.
And speaking of strength to strength, we’ve been involved in some fun team building events with various SME management teams across a variety of sectors, and some larger organisation to, including the police. Remember, “the strength of the team is each individual member…the strength of each member is the team”
We absolutely love doing what we do and making a difference, but don’t just take out word for it, look at what our clients have been saying.
Thank you for all your help with my company during a period where we have experienced tremendous changes. You have helped our whole team and we have grown from strength to strength; we are a more bonded, happier team and ready to set sail into whatever we may come across on our journey. Personally, I feel you have helped me grow and become a lot more self-assured both in my role and as an individual and this has, and will help me greatly in the future with our company. I wish you and your team every success with the fantastic work you do and I’m sure we will be using Pro-Development again in the future. I certainly would recommend you to others. Thank you for all your fantastic support and knowledge.

One of the best training courses I have attended. Clear, straightforward, but suitably detailed and all with an informed but informal style.
